At the 1st floor entrance of Chichibu City Hall and the 1st floor of the adjacent Rekishi Bunka Densho-kan (Central Public Hall), there is an exhibition corner about Chichibu Geopark. Tourist information is available at the Tourism Division Helpdesk.<\/p>\n

On the south side of the Chichibu City Hall is the Chichibu Park. This park has a mysterious small shrine where there is a pair of tori. This is a sacred place where, on the night of the Chichibu Yomatsuri (Night Festival) held on December 3, a ritual is carried out after six floats along with a procession from the shrine gather together.<\/p>\n

There is a legend that, at the Chichibu Yomatsuri (Night Festival), the goddess of Chichibu Shrine and the god of Mount Buko secretly date together once a year, and they meet at this location. At the center of the building is what is known as Kamenoko Ishi (Turtle Stone), and it is a reiju (sacred beast) like a turtle called Gembu on which the goddess sits.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
